GameRoll Privacy Policy

GameRoll ("GameRoll", "we", "us") is a mobile app that lets you track the games you play, follow other players, and share your gaming activity. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using GameRoll, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — email address, display name, handle, and, if you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, the basic profile information those providers share with us (name, email, profile photo). We use Firebase Authentication to manage sign-in; we never see or store your password.
• Profile information — anything you add to your profile, such as your bio, gaming platforms, and profile picture (uploaded by you and stored in Firebase Storage).
• Activity and content you create — the games you add to your library and their status (playing, pending, completed, wishlist, favourites), reviews and ratings, comments, likes, follows/blocks, and any custom game collections you create. This content may be visible to other users depending on the feature (e.g. your public activity feed, follower lists).
• Usage and diagnostic data — collected automatically through Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring: app interactions, screen views, device model, OS version, and crash/error logs. This helps us fix bugs and understand how the app is used; it is not used to identify you personally.

We do not collect payment information, precise location, or contacts from your device.

2. How we use your information

• To create and maintain your account and profile.
• To operate core features: game tracking, social feed, follows, likes, comments, and search.
• To keep our game catalog up to date (game titles, covers, and metadata are sourced from IGDB and, as a fallback, Steam's public store — this lookup does not involve sending any of your personal data to those services).
• To detect, diagnose, and fix bugs and crashes.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (e.g. blocking/reporting between users).

3. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Service providers — Google Firebase / Google Cloud (authentication, database, file storage, analytics, crash reporting, hosting), which process data on our behalf under Google's own data processing terms.
• Other users — content you choose to make part of your public profile or activity (display name, handle, avatar, bio, game library, reviews, comments) is visible to other users of the app, subject to your blocking/privacy choices where available.

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights and safety of GameRoll and its users.

4. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you want your account and associated data deleted, contact us at moshercode@gmail.com and we will process the deletion within a reasonable time, except for information we are required to keep for legal or security purposes.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights at any time by contacting us at moshercode@gmail.com.

6. Children's privacy

GameRoll is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

7. Security

We rely on Firebase's security infrastructure (encryption in transit, access-controlled cloud storage and database) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
